Who the engine is dedicated to, and why a developer in Bahrain wrote one.
This game engine is dedicated to all the game developers, programmers and creative minds that have provided me with information and knowledge regarding game development and Android, whether I got it directly or indirectly. I want to thank all the people who are responsible for letting me turn to game development and make it my passion. I'm thanking all the studios and people who have offered the world great and exciting games.
I wanted to thank Robert Green for sharing such great information on his website about game development. Another thank you goes to GameDev.net for being the best community ever. And I don't want to forget LazyFoo.net for providing great SDL tutorials.
I come from a small country in the Middle East, Bahrain. Sadly, game development in this area is not encouraging. So this is an endeavor by me to all the good people of the world who are willing to learn and experience game development.
A lot of people suffer when they're trying to make their way into the game development scene. The beginning is very hard, especially if you are trying to find your way without an academic aid. Many people start with the mistake of trying to make game engines before even making games. Lots of people tell others that it is better not to involve yourself with engines as they are a waste of time. I would say the opposite actually. The second you make a game it would be good practice to surf through a basic game engine. Why? To know the inners of the machinery that is responsible for cranking your game running.
There are probably better game engines out there for Android, and I'm talking about the commercial ones. But if you check out the free ones, in terms of both charge and source code, you're going to appreciate this one in hand.
